India, A Mysterious Object Of Unknown Origin Falls From The Sky In The City Of Sanchore

An object of unknown origin weighing approximately 2.78 kg fell from the sky on June 19, 2020, in the city of Sanchore, in the district of Jalore, Rajasthan, about 530 kilometers from the capital of the state of Jaipur.

According to local citizens, an explosive sound was heard when the object fell from the sky and the roar was heard up to two kilometers away. Not only did the impact of the object cause a crater about 30-40 cm deep, but it was also giving off heat three hours after it fell to the ground.

After the object cooled, they put it in a jar and took it away. The Mysterious Object that has metallic properties of germanium, platinum, nickel, and iron, is currently being held at the Sanchor police station.

Many say it is an asteroid fragment, but the local administration, to find out about it, contact the team of geologists from the Geographical Survey of India office in Ahmedabad and Jaipur, who will examine it further.

In 2019, authorities reported that a soccer ball-sized meteor fell into a paddy field in eastern India, frightening farmers. Spectators said they fled the field when the object fell into their rural village. “Farmers were working in the paddy field when this heavy rock fell from the sky with a very loud noise,” Shirsat Kapil Ashok, the magistrate of Madhubani district in the state of Bihar told AFP. When the smoke subsided, the villagers returned to the site to pull the rock out of its four foot (about 1.2 meters) deep crater. “We have seen that it has very strong magnetic properties, a bit of shine and weighs about 15 kilograms,” added Ashok. The discovery is analyzed by scholars who think it may be a meteorite. Meteors are particles of dust and rock that usually burn through the Earth’s atmosphere, those that survive the fall, are known as meteorites (which are sometimes mistaken for gold). While Indian physicists support the thesis of the regional authorities, the American space agency NASA has declared that it does not believe that the object was a meteorite.

In 2016, authorities in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India claimed that a meteorite killed a bus driver and injured three other people. In February 2013, a meteor crashed into the Russian Ural mountains, creating a shock wave that injured around 1,200 people and damaged thousands of homes. Another meteorite, which always fell in Russia (on the other hand, is very large), had been calculated to have a power 10 times greater than the atomic bomb. A further meteorite had instead hit Cuba. To name just a few!
